Evangel Foursquare Church

ABOUT US

Evangel Foursquare Church is a Bible-based, Spirit-empowered church founded in the late 1930’s by the International Foursquare Gospel Church. It began under a tent in the downtown area, and now is settled on the east side, 4019 East 42nd Street. We gather for our main contemporary worship service at 10:00 AM on Sundays.

MINISTRIES AT EVANGEL

WORSHIP

Our Sunday gathering is our main service and time to sing, meet new people, learn from the Bible and pray for one another's needs. We offer Kids Church for the younger generation. It is a time for them to learn about God, help them understand the Bible and enjoy high energy activities.

BIBLE STUDY

6:30 PM on Wednesdays. This is a time to study and read through the Bible with an open atmosphere to ask questions and talk about how to apply what we are readying. We also pray, drink coffee, laugh, cry, and love on one another.

MISSIONS

Matthew 28:18-20 is called the Great Commission. We believe that the heart of God is to reach the ends of the earth. We are committed to partnering with various ministries in our country and in other nations. It is through our networking with each other that the Kingdom of God will continue to grow.

YOUTH GROUP

Wednesdays @ 6:30pm
In a world that is always changing, we want our youth to understand what the Bible says and how to let it shape their lives. The youth meet weekly for a time of fun, games, reading the Word, listening, and discussing how to apply the truths, values and principles. Leaders plan activities to meet other teens and build relations, as well as opportunities to serve others which includes missions’ trips and park outreaches.

WOMEN'S MINISTRY

Women gather for lunch and Bible study on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of each month. There are other opportunities for crafts, special projects, holiday gatherings and fellowship as the ladies build friendships and serve others.

CHILDREN'S MINISTRY

We believe that Jesus called for children to be brought to Him. He cares for them deeply, and because He did, we do too. We also believe that the prayer and heart of a child is powerful and our responsibility to protect and nurture each one is taken seriously. We teach them about Christ and how He has empowered each one to make a difference.

MEN'S MINISTRY

The men meet monthly for food, fun and fellowship. This may happen over a Saturday Breakfast or a weekend campfire. There are opportunities to talk about God and how we live out our faith, to help with mowing and other projects around the church. This is a great way to develop friends.

FOOD PANTRY

Because all of us can have a bad day or a rough spot at any moment, we partner with some local churches to support and serve at the food pantry next door in the East View Community Building (4101 E 42nd St., Des Moines). There are opportunities to receive assistance, serve others, give resources/groceries and pray for others. East View Community Food Pantry hours are: Tuesday & Wednesday 2-5 PM and Friday 10 AM – 2 PM
